I'd settle for a "taco truck" in Crocker! A man could starve out here!

I dunno - when we were there the other day, it sure looked empty. Peppers is open again, BTW - another Mexican place. They don't have any signs yet - just an open banner. They have a store in Salem as well.

Isn't Southern Spice still in the Mini-Mall (Clayton Towers) in St. Robert?

Second chance .... hmmmm .....
The first time we went, the waitress was LOUD, but attentive - she was okay. The food, however, wasn't what we're used to at Denny's.
The second time, the wait was long, the waitress was poor, and the food was pathetic.
That's been a few weeks. We decided to give them a chance at a strike-out tonight .... the "hostess" took us right in, and as it turned out, her statement, "Just follow me, please" was the only words spoken to us by ANYONE while we were there. She sat us down, gave us menus, then we sat there for 25 minutes listening to some kid and his jerks-fer-parents demonstrate their utter inability to use their "inside voice". Finally, we looked at each other, said well, even Cracker Barrel would be quieter than this, then piled our silverware and menus in the center of the table, got up and left. No one even made eye contact with us on the way out, much less say anything.
It infuriates me, because we LIKE Denny's. Kansas City, Columbia, Jeff City, Springfield, Joplin, St. Louis - we've used them for years. They open here, hire local help, and promptly become intolerable.
GGRRRRRRR .....
