Looks like the government better spend some money and get the fleet of planes up to combat ready.
We may need them sooner than we expect with the nut in North Korea and the ongoing problems in the middle east.
Old Sam Walton said of money after the stock market took a big hit years ago...
It's only paper!

Granted the military has a lot of rebuilding to do, so much for the Obama year's of prosperity.

http://www.defenseone.com/threats/20...-alert/141957/
The BUFF's are gonna go back on the alert pads..
Sucks to be the Air Force Security Police...
being the new guy i got to walk around the alert birds..after two years i had yet to ride in the mobile posts...so I called Kelly AFB, they do all the maintenance work on the B-52's, "How many rivets are there in a B-52H?" something like 35,845 was their answer, I told my flight chief i had been walking around the alert bird so long i had counted 35,845 rivets, when could I go on the mobile patrol?...well the LT decided he had to know. He being an academy graduate called Kelly AFB. He told me that a B52G had 35,967 rivets...I was on post walking and said thats right pointing to a G-model in the hanger. I was talking about the two H models iVe been walking around! He looked at my charges, then the hanger, jumped in his truck and drove off...after lunch he switched me out with a mobile patrol.."I just got here last month, How Freaking long have you been out here walking this post?"
Forever LT, Freaking forever!

The few the proud the Marines.
Wow, these guys were tasked to provide artillery support to forces taking Raqqa, the home of ISIS. Takes a lot of work to burn out howitzer barrels!

The last of the Big Birds is heading to Davis Montham AFB. The Air Force officially retired the US Air Forces C-5A-M Galaxy. Massive bird, flew on it from Korea to McChord To Dover catching a hop for my mid tour leave, caught one out of Germany with the family on leave..

Funniest story involving a C-5...
walking around one, they were all treated as priory one so had to be roped off and patrolled when they showed up to load or unload at McGuire. Guard said he heard howling coming out of the hatch..i pulled up and sure as poop...howling but it was echoing from inside and in the cavernous empty hold we could see nothing. contacted the crew. nope we aint got no dogs we just flew in from England and customs cleared us.
hmmm well, I aint going in there...call out a K-9. MWD Rocky shows and immediately starts the mad dog imitation, hackles up teeth bared, growling and pulling on his lead...
the handler has to lug Rocky up to the flight deck after finding zilch in the cargo bay. 90 pounds of salivating german shepherd. Gives the standard "come out or ill let loose the dog".nuttin but a bone chilling howl now found to be emanating from the work bay access thats between the wings and front and rear cabins. The hatch is opened and the handler releases rocky..the howling becomes snarls, metal is being hit, whimpering and out comes Rocky dragging a dead standard poodle. the handler goes in and finds its cage torn open, food and water all over...
OSI talks to the Aircraft Commander, FiFi was being smuggled out of England because his wife didn't want FiFi to be quarantined.
Yet once again I found myself in front of the squadron commander. "Deadeye, this is getting to be a habit. Tell me your side"
Well Sir it was like this....
