The city of Waynesville saved the post by taking over the money loser airport during a BRAC round and yet we had such a hard time getting on base to see the facility we took over.
If the base lost the airport that would have hurt the post during the BRAC hearings in DC and could have possibly put the base on the hit list to close.

Understand, the community has been behind the post a lot in recent years. I remember a RR rant awhile back about the new hotel on post. I hear it will manly be for young officers attending training, I guess they are getting them out of Morelli Heights over by the MSCoE center and putting them closer to the PX, Commissary and other on post facilities. That is all I know about the new hotel, and that was put out in a recent post paper.

Little was said about the pressure put on the communities to provide quality off-post housing or else, or the promises to guarantee a certain level of occupancy .... then, after we MAKE that investment, the post builds a huge new facility in direct competition, and suddenly that off-post investment is only borderline profitable.

Ok tried twice to order at BK..
First time Laquey school bus I knew was gonna be a problem..
Line to the door. One cash register in operation. Perused the menu board.
Eh when all you can eat is chicken it's not all that.
The cashier kept making mistakes, the manager was checking the kitchen and drive through
I left
Today the line was only half way to the door.
As I got closer one guy and his pal got up from a table...
We've been waiting there..pointing to the table and cut in line..
One cashier again
Walked out again
Maybe one day I'll actually eat there...but if we get a Popeyes on post
All bets are off.

Sounds like they are having some problems, for sure.

The wife went over there one day last week she said the woman who waited on her had trouble speaking English and didn't know how to run the register.

Doesn't sound good to me. Glad I don't go to fast food places much.

Boston market
5.99 for a delicious chicken pot pie
Another buck gets a 1/4 chicken and two sides.
Good stuff too!
