Default DIY Aquarium stand

I didn't want to spend nearly $100 for a walmart cheapy aquarium stand that was made entirely out of pressboard, and I didn't wanna spend $500 for a hardwood one....so I went to Lowe's and boughta bunch of lumber...which totalled almost $60. I decided that was still too much so I came back to the shop and started rooting around to see what I could find. I came across an old base cabinet ( don't even know why we had it) that we've been kicking around the shop for years. it was 30" wide x 24" deep x 28" tall...PERFECT... except i only needed it to be 15" deep. it was a very well made solid hardwood and plywood cabinet....not some cheapo presswood garbage, so it had potential.

i carefully dismantled the cabinet, cut the sides down to the right depth, removed the shelves, cut them down, cut a new back for it, made a new kickplate, and built a top from one of the pieces of lumber i bought from lowe's. stained the top red mahogany, the rest honey oak and VOILA!!

Final Cost - $16.00 and it's all hardwood, and its MADE IN USA!!!

I could but the part that makes it cost effective is the fact that its a DO-IT-YOURSELF project, lol.
