Default Human Game

The Great Escape, everyone remembers the movie, James Garner, Steven McQueen and the fifty. the film was dedicated to the fifty allied airmen who were shot by the Gestapo

human Game, the book is the story about justice and revenge as the allies race through Europe, with the war still raging, searching for the perpetrators of The Nazi plot to kill escapees in WW2 specifically those 50 killed in the escape from luft stalag III...
Non fiction the true story.

Just found out about the book from WIRED magazine reviews...
Hope iTunes carries the book....

Will let y'all know.

Hmmm halfway though.." I was ordered...the higher authorities insisted,,, I did not agree"
The order did come from the Fueher, but even his justice ministry found all fifty shot and killed while trying to escape was too easily found to be a ruse for murder....

One of the Saarbrucken Gestapo killers being transferred from French to British custody was driven to Berlin along the Autobahn...at the exact same point where he had shot the English pilot on a rest stop enroute to luft stalag III, the English military police stopped and told him to get out and relieve himself....no need, in complete panic he soiled himself trying to stay in the automobile....

Fascinating how completely the Nazis scrubbed humanity from every common German

The total numbers of Gestapo tried for murder were small, most were hanged, several committed suicide, a small band of English Military Policemen chased the fugitives through a war torn burauecratic nightmare of tripartite politics and geographies as the guilty morphed into new names and altered appearances trying to escape..

One interesting little Nazi who took great pleasure in killing the airmen, he was present for three separate instances involving 9 airmen was his justification. talking to the lead investigator, an MP who was a flight engineer in Lancaster Bombers until the war ended.

"Sergeant, did you fly bombing missions?, I notice the RAF BADGE you wear."
Yes
"Than you feel justified killing unarmed men, women and children, yes?"
It was war, I was bombing military targets.
"Than I wish I had killed more of you"

Good book, a look into war and the danger of totalitarianism brainwashing...
Atrocities 101,

Next book

Killing Kennedy
If its 1/10th as good as Killing Lincoln
I'll be rereading it at least twice
