Turning them "off" instructions are provided for thosse drivers that need the additional education. Wonder if the latest in California was actually stuck or just a excuse for speeding. "Sorry Officer, my accelrator stuck, thats why I was going so fast"???

The officer had to get in front of his car to help him get stopped and the officer said that he could smell the hot brakes. It is being inspected now.
The whole thing was caught on tape.

No he managewd to slow down when the officer got in front, and then somehow managed to remove his hand from the steering wheel to push the power button for the required 3 sseconds to kill the engine. found it interesting that he could use a hand to try and pull up the accelarator, but couldn't free a hand to move the transmission lever to neutral. strange???

The answer to the malfunction may be located in the 'grey cells'...

That doesn't mean a thing .... my GMC diesel shuts off sometimes going down the road, usually under a heavy pull. Kind've a direct opposite situation, but when you're loaded heavy and pulling a hill or merging onto the interstate between several cars & trucks, it can sure get dicey .... and the "black box" shows NO anomalies. Like it never happened. I think those computer diagnostics are a lot like a recalcitrant kid - they hear only what they want to hear!
